Sonex does not necessarily need paint. 6061 is more corrosion resistant than a lot of alloys, more so than the pure aluminum coating of an alclad skin material. Paint adds weight and complicates the building process. But to store outside for extended periods (no hangar), and to reduce finish upkeep, I am considering paint.

As seen on an RV. I might try to do this as 2 paint colors - white and red, with the black made of adhesive-backed vinyl to keep the masking/painting as simple as possible.

All yellow with vinyl stripe.
